FAQs
1. Do you support non-Uganda residents?
Yes. We work with clients resident outside Uganda—individuals, contractors and businesses. We coordinate across time zones, accept secure document uploads, and advise on tax residency, reporting obligations and any local filings required in the jurisdictions involved.
2. How do you handle international / cross-border tax matters?
We assess your global footprint, review relevant double taxation treaties (where applicable), and advise on residency status, withholding obligations, and reporting requirements. For local filings outside our remit we coordinate with licensed partners and provide a consolidated plan and clear handoff.
3. Is my data secure when I upload documents?
Absolutely. We use encrypted file transfer and storage, access-controlled systems, and strict internal policies. Every engagement includes confidentiality protections (NDA on request) and limited-team access. We only retain documents as long as needed for compliance and according to agreed retention policies.
4. What documents do you require for tax filings?
Typical documents include:
For individuals: ID/passport, income statements / payslips, bank statements, tax notices, proof of deductions (invoices, receipts).
For businesses: incorporation documents, financial statements, VAT/GST returns, bank statements, payroll records, contracts.
For cross-border matters: invoices/contracts with foreign parties, proof of tax residency, withholding statements, and prior tax returns (if available).
5. How long does a consultation or filing take?
Turnaround depends on scope: a standard consultation and preliminary assessment can be scheduled within a few business days; a routine personal tax return is often completed within 5–15 business days after receipt of complete documents. Complex cross-border cases may take longer—estimated timelines are provided with the engagement quote.
6. How are fees structured?
We offer: one-time consultations (hourly or fixed), per-filing/project pricing, and monthly retainers for ongoing advisory. Final fees depend on jurisdictional complexity and document volume; you’ll receive a transparent proforma before work begins and no hidden charges.
